Banker Pick — Asian Handicap
Bayern have covered −1.5 in 9 of their last 12 Bundesliga home matches. Werder have failed to keep the margin within one goal in 8 of their last 10 away fixtures against top-half sides. The half-line removes the 1-goal margin ambiguity — Bayern need a 2+ goal win, which their recent home form strongly suggests.

Today's Asian Handicap predictions — AH tips across all leagues.
Asian Handicap (AH) is a football betting market that removes the draw by using half or quarter goal lines as virtual adjustments to the final score. Because half-numbers (0.5, 1.5) make an exact draw on the adjusted score impossible, there are only two outcomes — win or lose — and no stake is ever returned on a drawn adjusted score (unlike European Handicap). Quarter lines (0.25, 0.75) split the stake across two adjacent half-lines, partially refunding when the result lands exactly between the two. Asian Handicap is the professional bettor's preferred structure because it eliminates the draw from mismatched fixtures and offers tighter, fairer odds than 1X2.
Asian Handicap half-lines explained
Half-line AH is the most common and easiest to understand. A −0.5 AH on Arsenal means Arsenal must win outright — a draw is a losing outcome. A +0.5 AH on Everton means Everton must win or draw — a loss is the only losing outcome. A −1.5 AH on Bayern means Bayern must win by 2 or more goals — a 1-0 win is a losing outcome. A +1.5 AH on Werder means Werder can lose by 1 goal and the bet still wins. There is never a void or refund on a half-line — the result always falls cleanly on one side of the line.
Asian Handicap quarter-lines explained
Quarter-line AH (e.g. −0.25, +0.75) splits the stake equally across the two adjacent half-lines. A −0.25 AH on a team splits the bet between AH 0 (Draw No Bet) and AH −0.5. If the team wins, both halves win. If the team draws, the AH 0 half is refunded and the AH −0.5 half loses — so you lose half the stake. If the team loses, both halves lose. A +0.75 AH splits between +0.5 and +1.0. If the team draws, +0.5 wins and +1.0 is refunded — so you win half the stake. Quarter lines are the most precise AH format, used when the correct line sits between two half-lines.
Asian Handicap vs Draw No Bet and Double Chance
AH 0 is functionally equivalent to Draw No Bet — if the team wins, you win; if the match draws, your stake is refunded; if the team loses, you lose. The only difference is the name and where it appears in a bookmaker's interface. AH +0.5 is functionally equivalent to Double Chance 1X (for the home team) or X2 (for the away team) — the bet wins if the team wins or draws, and loses only on a loss. However, AH lines are usually priced in a two-way market with lower margin than the three-way Double Chance market, often offering slightly better value for the same outcome.
